Director of Religious Exploration
Congregation:
First Parish UU Church of Medfield
Date posted:
Mon, 05/20/2013 Seeking a dynamic new Director of Religious Exploration. This is a 15-20 hr/week position with a small but growing church. We are thrilled to have just called a new minister, the Rev. Meg Soens, and we are equally excited about finding an enthusiastic DRE to begin with us this fall. FPUU remains dedicated to strengthening and expanding an RE program that focuses on nurturing community among children and youth, and empowers children to seek and find their own personal truth and meaning. Continuing and enhancing our RE program will be essential to our future development and growth. The new DRE will continue our current tradition of guiding the children to lead their own weekly worship services, but will also be given the freedom to work with the RE committee to adopt new worship activities and annual curriculums of interest. Applicants should be comfortable speaking to the congregation at large, and should connect especially well with children and youth. A strong commitment to Unitarian Universalism is a must. We now have twenty-three children in Sunday RE programs (Grades 1-10). The DRE will report to the minister. We are a liberal church with wide religious and cultural backgrounds, and we welcome diversity in all its forms.
Resumes will be evaluated as received, with the goal of a mid-August start date to prepare for the coming church year. Please visit our web site for more information.
