Part-time Adult Programs Director

Tue, 04/17/2012 Active mid-size congregation in Belmont, MA seeks an energetic and engaging Adult Programs Advisor to work closely with the Adult Programs Committee to develop activities and programs based on committee and congregation interest. The Advisor plans and coordinates those activities, retreats, arranging for volunteers, space, speakers, visitors, and resources and attends multiple events for oversight and facilitation. The Advisor oversees publicity for various programs including the Adult Programs brochure, Adult Program announcement emails, newsletter articles, order of service notices, updating calendar and the website and updates the weekly hall calendar.
In addition, the Advisor works closely with the Senior Minister and The Ministry Programs Committee to develop and support various ministry programs, including the selection and training of facilitators. The Advisor also helps to launch new groups and to coordinate the admission of new members into ongoing groups. This position reports directly to the Senior Minister.

We are an open and welcoming community church in association with both the Unitarian-Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. We are seeking to hire a Director of Religious Education (DRE) who could start in the late summer of 2012. The position is 30 hours per week, September 1 through June 15, plus two weeks during the summer. This is a full-time position in a vibrant, medium sized church with a long history. First Parish celebrated its 350th Anniversary in November of 2005, as did the Town of Chelmsford. The church building is located across from the town common in the center of Chelmsford. Our congregation draws people from Chelmsford and the surrounding towns. First Parish’s RE Program includes approximately 120 children & youth and is supported by about 100 volunteer teachers & lay leaders.
