Welcome! We are a Unitarian Universalist Church, a Welcoming Congregation, located across from the Common in the center of Carlisle,
Massachusetts. The First Religious Society is a place of worship and fellowship dedicated to serving the spiritual and
religious needs of all who choose to walk with us. We are active
in serving the community and reaching out globally to those in need.
The
First Religious Society in Carlisle is an inclusive community bound together in
the Unitarian
Universalist tradition of friendship, free inquiry and service to humanity. We recognize
our commonality as spiritual seekers, and welcome and celebrate the
participation of all people, without regard to age, race, religious heritage,
political opinion, gender identity, sexual or affectional orientation,
socio-economic status, disability or ethnicity. We are committed to continual learning and growth toward
affirmation of the enriching diversity of humankind, and to working to create a
more just, sustainable and loving world.
The congregation of the FRS values its beautiful and historic church. The main structure was built in 1811. The 1994 addition provides wheelchair accessible restrooms and elevator entrance to the three levels of the church.
Services are held each Sunday at 10 a.m. Religious Education classes and childcare are available during the service. Coffee Hour follows.
Minister: Rev. Diane Miller
