LC Workshops with Rev. Stefan Jonasson, UUA Large Congregations Director
First Parish of Watertown, Social Hall

Many conversations about church growth begin and end with welcoming techniques and hospitality strategies, as if quick fixes were all that we need to stand back and watch our churches grow. As religious professionals, we know that growth depends on a complex mix of excellent ministry, compelling lay leadership, clarity of purpose, and focus. We struggle with questions about overall trends in American religious life, the potential for church growth in our towns and communities, and we search for the perfect strategies that will help our congregations grow.
UUA Director of Growth Services Stefan Jonasson will join us for a conversation about growth in the Mass Bay and Clara Barton congregations. He’ll help us understand external demographic trends, identify very real opportunities for growth, share concrete growth strategies, and help debunk the myth that Unitarian Universalism is dying in New England.
