Gathering of Boards (MBD) - FULL

In an unprecedented event, congregational governing Boards will gather to share and learn together. If you are a member of your congregation's governing Board, perhaps you have asked yourself these questions: 

• Is our Board clear on what will guide our decision-making this year?
• Do we really know what is our work and what work is for our committees and our staff?
• Do I know what success looks like for our Board and for me as a member?

You are not alone in asking these questions. Whether spoken aloud or not, all congregations anticipate that their elected leaders will be able to answer them.  

This event is designed for Boards to work independently but also to share their wisdom with each other. It will provide a structured way to engage with these challenging questions.

OPTIONAL AFTERNOON PORTION:
The optional afternoon session provides additional time for Boards to plan their next steps in light of the morning conversations. District staff coaching will be available during the afternoon. Board members who plan to stay for the afternoon are asked to bring a sack lunch.

We encourage your Board to take the time to agree on its  fundamentals before the whirlwind of congregational life begins blowing in the new church year.
